The Role

What does a Senior Social Care Worker do?

As well as helping to meet the emotional, physical, psychological and social needs of the people you support, your role as a Senior Social Care Worker will include:

  • Assisting with the daily management of the home, and helping to coordinate activities during your shift.
  • Supervising and mentoring new and less experienced colleagues.
  • Encouraging good communication within your team.
  • Ensuring that all medications are administered correctly.
  • Communicating with relatives, and involving them in their loved ones’ care.
  • Interacting with Care Managers and other care professionals, like social workers and therapists, in consultation with senior staff.
  • Helping to maintain accurate records and reports, and contributing to residents’ assessments and reviews.

Where will I work?

Wey View is a recently refurbished property in Addlestone, Surrey, in an established residential area close to Chertsey and Weybridge town centres. The home supports up to ten men and women of varying ages with learning disabilities, autism and associated complex emotional and behavioural needs, including diagnoses of personality disorder, schizophrenia and bipolar disorder

What experience do I need?

We’re looking for people who are committed, warm-hearted and caring, prepared to go above and beyond for the people they support. We would welcome your application for this role if you have a minimum of two years’ experience in social care working with vulnerable people. You will have a professional approach, with the ability to organise and prioritise as well as a good knowledge of the relevant codes of practice and legislation. An NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care, or similar equivalent, is preferred.
